SUMMARY:Tai Chi- July series
DESCRIPTION:Join Sifu Alex Lamas courtesy of the Greenburgh Evergreen Club
to learn Tai Chi in this summer series!\n\nThe primary focus of Tai Chi is
to combine mind\, body and spirit to work as one. According to Chinese
medicine\, “Qi” is the vital force that animates the body as well as
the electrical impulses that travel through the nervous system. Practicing
Tai Chi is a way to enhance the circulation of Qi in the body\, which can
also help with balance\, coordination\, proper breathing and developing
fine motor skills. Tai Chi can help one to better stand\, walk and run.
It's beneficial for strengthening the joints\, as well as relieving some of
the pain caused by arthritis. As a moving meditation\, it helps to build
concentration and develop a calm mind\, thus relieving stress. All are
welcome.\n\nThis class will be held at the library on Thursdays\, July 10
through September 18\, 2025\, broken down into three monthly class series.
To allow as many people as possible to attend\, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
EACH MONTH for that month's class series.\n\nNOTE: Not all exercises are
suitable for everyone and this or any other exercise program may result in
injury. PLEASE consult your DOCTOR before beginning this or any other
exercise program\, especially if you have any chronic or recurring
 condition\, and/or if you are pregnant\, nursing\, or elderly.\n\nPractice
Tai Chi at home with DVDs and e-videos available to borrow at no cost with
your library card! More Tai Chi titles are available to borrow in print\,
 ebook and e-audio formats.\n
