Latin Music 101 In-Person

Join David DeJesus, SUNY Purchase Assistant Professor of Music, who will discuss the many styles and forms of Latin Music in our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month in collaboration with the Ossining Public Library. From salsa and bachata to reggaetón and Latin rock, learn musical history and current trends, and listen to samples of all kinds of fabulous Latin music!   

Alto Saxophonist David DeJesus has been on the New York City Jazz scene since the late ’90s and has established himself as a key player in numerous bands in various genres. In Latin jazz and salsa, David has shared the stage with Ruben Blades, Larry Harlow, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Tito Rodriguez Jr. David is currently a member of the Grammy Award–winning Arturo O’Farrill Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, the Grammy-nominated Bobby Sanabria Big Band, and the legendary Ron Carter’s Great Big Band.
