Qi Gong on the Patio

Qi Gong on the Patio In-Person

Join us on our outdoor patio with Qigong Westchester to learn and practice Qi Gong. Similar to Tai Chi, Qi Gong consists of gentle stretching and breathing exercises that incorporate the body and mind and has been know to reduce pain, improve concentration and manage stress.

Qi Gong is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which views and treats the body, mind, and the environment as a whole and has more than 4000 years of history in China. This class will teach many Qi Gong techniques and movements to help different parts of the body, such as the neck, spine, and organs (liver, kidneys, heart, etc). Energy blockages will be removed so that energy will build up and flow smoothly in the body.

Some of the many benefits you may receive are:

● Increased Flexibility/Balance

● Improved Immune System

● Stress Reduction

● Enhanced Overall General Health

Before practicing Qi Gong for health purposes, it is important that you seek advice from your main health care provider, such as your family doctor.

During Kindness Week and throughout September, Hunger Action Month, practice kindness and bring a non-perishable food item to the library to help our Westchester neighbors in need through Feeding Westchester. Click here for a list of most needed items which may be deposited in the Feeding Westchester box in the first floor lobby.
