Museums w/Marisa: Am I Indiana Jones? In-Person

Young archaeologists will learn how an archaeological excavation is organized and scientifically run, the correct methods to "dig up" artifacts, the different types of archaeology, and finally have a chance to "excavate" artifacts themselves.

 

Presenter's Bio

Marisa Horowitz- Jaffe has been teaching, studying and living ancient history for over 25 years. Her background includes double Bachelors degrees in Classical Archaeology and Egyptology from The University of Michigan, and a Master’s degree in Art and Museum Education from Harvard University. She spent two decades working in elite NYC art museum education departments, and now enjoys bringing her own artifacts and passion to local community centers, schools and private groups. She also offers private tours at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
