Threads of Connection: Promoting Cultural Understanding Through Creative Learning for Kids

Participants will learn how knots symbolize ideas such as connection, good luck, unity, and friendship while creating one traditional knot step-by-step. The finished knot can be turned into a simple craft to take home. Through hands-on making, this workshop encourages creativity and cultural understanding. Registration is required. 

Presenter Bio
Olivia is a high school student and Girl Scout pursuing her Gold Award. Her project, Threads of Connection: Promoting Cultural Understanding Through Creative Learning, focuses on promoting cultural understanding through hands-on learning experiences centered on Chinese cultural arts. Olivia has studied Chinese language and traditions for many years and learned Chinese knotting from her grandmother. Through community-based workshops at libraries and local organizations, she shares this traditional art form with others while fostering appreciation for cultural heritage, creativity, and connection.
