Building A Better Greenburgh - Law Enforcement In-Person

Disparities in law enforcement have been a long-term concern in this country, disproportionately impacting Black and Brown communities. In 2021, the Town of Greenburgh published The NYS Police Reform & Reinvention Collaborative Initiative Report in response to a mandate from Governor Cuomo to address such inequities. What has happened since that time? What else can be done? How can residents, community leaders and stakeholders work to create greater equity in law enforcement in the Town of Greenburgh so that everyone can feel safe?

WHAT? Community Listening Circles for residents of Unincorporated Greenburgh to share stories and explore how we can build stronger connections between community and leadership. It’s not about having all the answers – it’s about listening, learning, and discovering what might be possible when we work side by side.
WHO? We’re inviting civic-minded residents to engage in a constructive, facilitated process in which everyone has an opportunity to listen and share respectfully about issues they care about in an environment designed to help us uplift our common humanity, inspire community, and foster an experience of belonging.
Come join the conversation, meet new people, and help imagine a more engaged, more accountable community for us all in an environment where every voice is heard, valued and respected.
We start punctually so please come early for refreshments and plan to stay for the entire circle.
