Opera Talk: Great Ensembles

Opera Talk: Great Ensembles In-Person / Online

Leonard Bernstein pointed out that the ensemble vocal performance in opera is the element that sets it apart from all other art forms because it allows the great composer to bring together up to six characters simultaneously expressing themselves through song.  Bernstein emphasized that the best ensembles, intricately constructed, are unique in that we can hear and follow distinctly each character's train of thought.  From Mozart to Britten, we will watch, listen to and discuss some of the best operatic ensemble performances ever staged - join us for the fun at 2 PM on October 25th in the Children's Program Room of the Greenburgh Public Library or on Zoom.
