Cannabis Career Exploration, Presented by the Cannabis Workforce Initiative

Cannabis Career Exploration, Presented by the Cannabis Workforce Initiative In-Person

Curious about a career in cannabis but don’t know where to start?

There’s a lot more to cannabis jobs than just growing or selling. There are many different types of jobs supporting the supply chain from seed to sale, and you may not realize you have relevant experience from working in other industries. This workshop is an introduction to New York’s regulated cannabis market and the wide range of opportunities in this new and growing industry, with a focus on the variety of transferable skills in demand by cannabis employers. We will also share information about free and accessible trainings and other educational resources to help you find a pathway into the industry.

Special thanks to the Fairview Empowerment Group for partnering with us on this program!

What is CWI?

The mission of the New York State Cannabis Workforce Initiative (CWI) is to promote and support social equity in the adult-use cannabis market by providing quality workforce development and legal education. Our work prioritizes diversity, equity, and quality jobs in the emerging cannabis industry through skills training, entrepreneurism services, workforce supports, legal education for employees and employers, and the development of high-road career pathways. We draw our expertise from Cornell ILR and WDI.

CWI’s programming is made possible by funding allocated in the New York State Budget.
