Jazz Conversations: Summer Singers Part One In-Person / Online
Join us in-person or virtually as Frank DeLigio kicks off this lively two-part summer series featuring outstanding jazz vocalists. Discussion centers on the music and the personalities and is often prompted by video or audio clips of the day's subjects.
In Part One we'll explore the pervasive influence of Billie Holiday on generations of singers and the magic created by song stylists pushing the envelope. Featured vocalists include Dee Dee Bridgewater, Samara Joy, Anita O'Day, Frank Sinatra, and Bobby McFerrin.
Join us for Summer Singers Part Two on Saturday, July 27 where we'll spotlight Mel Torme, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden, and Bessie Smith.
