Greenburgh Restorative Listening Circle Building Community Together! In-Person
Greenburgh Residents, You're Invited! To be part of The Greenburgh Restorative Circle Project - a community building initiative providing an inclusive space for Greenburgh residents from disparate backgrounds to meet and share lived experience in a series of in-person “Listening Circles” led by trained circle keepers throughout the community.
As our community wrestles with deepening political fissures, Listening Circles provide a way for us to transcend our differences and uplift our common humanity, and inspire community, in an atmosphere of safety, decorum, and equality, giving space and time to people who often feel they are not being heard.
With roots in Indigenous cultures, a Listening Circle is a facilitated process that provides an opportunity to share individual perspectives, practice empathy and compassionate listening skills, and contribute to a collective voice for positive solutions to emerge.
Goals and Objectives:
- Building relationships that transcend racial and cultural barriers by providing a compassionate space for sharing and building empathy.
- Providing avenues for respectful dialogue on race and diversity to create a healthier, safer and more inclusive Greenburgh.
- Developing a deeper understanding of the inequities that exist in Greenburgh.
