Real Reads, Non-Fiction Book Club In-Person
Real Reads is the library's new book club for adults. Narrative nonfiction is the focus of Real Reads. Selections include memoirs, biographies, adventures, history, true crime, current topics, science, and more.
This is an opportunity to meet new people and enjoy stimulating, engaging, and friendly conversations.
Real Reads meets on Saturday mornings at 10:30 am in the library.
Registration is required.
Print copies of selected titles will be available at the first-floor circulation desk, while supplies last.
Borrow the electronic version directly from the library’s catalog.
- Saturday, March 30, 2024 - The Nazi conspiracy: the secret plot to kill Roosevelt, Stalin, and Churchill by Brad Meltzer & Josh Mensch. Print copies will be available starting March 2, 2024.
- Saturday,April 20, 2024 - Fatherland, a memoir of war, conscience, and family secrets by Burkhard Bilger. Print copies will be available starting March 30, 2024.
- Saturday, May 18, 2024 - Identity Trap: a story of ideas and power in our time by Yascha Mounk. Print copies will be available starting April 20, 2024.
- Saturday, June 15, 2024 - Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier by Arthur Brooks and Oprah Winfrey. Print copies will be available starting May 18, 2024.
- Saturday, September 7, 2024 - On Our Best Behavior: The Seven Deadly Sins and the Price Women Pay to Be Good by Elise Loehnen. Print copies will be available starting June 15, 2024.
- Saturday, October 5, 2024 - How to Say Babylon: A Memoir by Safiya Sinclair. Print copies will be available starting September 7, 2024.
- Saturday, November 2, 2024 - The Exceptions : Nancy Hopkins, MIT, and the fight for women in science by Kate Zernike. Print copies will be available starting October 5, 2024.
- Saturday, November 30, 2024 - Burn book: a tech love story by Kara Swisher. Print copies will be available starting November 2, 2024.
There is no book discussion in July, August, and December.
