Resource Connect for Older Adults and Caregivers In-Person

Are you a caregiver or is caregiving in your future? Join us to learn about the variety of services and programs designed to assist older adults in maintaining a high quality of life in Westchester County.  Colette Phipps, Director of Program Development for the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services leads this discussion on programs offered by the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services and its Not-for-Profit affiliates; appropriate for a multiple-generational audience with information and handouts helpful to both older adults and their caregivers.

This program is brought to the community by the Zeta Nu Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in partnership with the Greenburgh Public Library, Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services, and Westchester Public Private Partnership for Aging Services.

Headshot image of Presenter, Colette Phipps, LMSW Presenter Colette Phipps, LMSW, has a human services background spanning approximately 40 years. She is currently the Director of Program Development for the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services. Ms. Phipps designs, develops and implements programs for analyses on trends relating to older adults to address their needs and the needs of caregivers of older adults.

Ms. Phipps also oversees several major initiatives and projects sponsored by DSPS and its 501(C) 3, the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services. She is Executive Director of the national award winning Westchester County Livable Communities: A Vision for All Ages Initiative. Under the large umbrella of Livable Communities, she oversees several programs aimed at leveraging support for older adults and their caregivers. They include but are not limited to Next Stage Network, Caregiving Coaching Program, Telehealth Intervention Programs for Seniors, and Care Circles of Westchester.

Ms. Phipps is a Licensed Master of Social Work, a certified dementia practitioner with a special Advanced Social Worker in Gerontology certification from the National Association of Social Workers. She is an adjunct professor at Fordham University who has earned a Bachelor's degree from Iona College and a Master of Social Work from New York University. Ms. Phipps is a published author and serves on numerous boards focused on the well-being of older adults.
