LGBTQIA+ Subculture: The Ballroom Scene & Its Rise In Media Online
The Ballroom Scene is an LGBTQ+ sub-culture where people ‘walk’ for status and prizes at events known as ‘balls.’ Ballroom has decades of relevance that has inspired documentaries, been co-opted by icons like Madonna, and yet, remarkably, remains largely misunderstood. Presenter Emmanuel Segarra-Otero will delve into this culture and examine its history, impact, rise in the media, and relevance today.
